As part of NLB team's efforts to promote this service to our readers, we need volunteers to help us in this project for this **service to be broadcast to all! Volunteers will assist our libraries to mann the desk and encourage the public to sign up for this service via our e-kiosks/labtops. Roadshow timing will be daily starting from 17 Nov 08. **This FREE service via email/SMS service will allow our users to remind them of their loans due date/alert on overdue items/collection of reserved items..etc. Don't worry, no experience required juz a warm smile from U :). Students who are IT savvy or those who want to do something meaningful during these school holidays or over the weekends, are also welcome to register for this event as part of your learning curriculum. **Sign-up are available via the "Search for Regular Volunteering Opportunites" so dun miss it and sign up now! If reading a great story brings you pleasure, why not share that delight with others? We are looking for Friends of the Library who are interested in writing book reviews for High Browse Online, a NLB blog aimed at introducing readers to great English fiction books. Each review should be at least 300 words and the book reviewed has to be published after 2000. The selected titles should be English adult fiction or non-fiction and are available in the libraries. Please note that all reviews must be an original piece and that the submissions will not be eligible for any promotions or contests ongoing at High Browse. Each FOLs?submission (min. 2 reviews per FOL) will be taken as a one-time volunteering contribution. So what are you waiting for? Time is from 10am-1pm. If you possess all the above and preferably are game enough to act, sing, and even dance in front of children...then dun hesitate and sign up now! Event Assistants needed for Redemption Booth at Marine Parade Public Library (Weekday) by vmsadmin4 on 28th-Oct-2008 16:45
Marine Parade Public Library needs Friends of the Library to assist us in manning the redemption booth in the Library. You need to control the crowd as well as able to carry out the activities required during redemption process. This is a highly fun and exciting opportunity to mingle with readers of all ages and from all walks of life. You will be briefed on the programmes in-store for the day before your duty. No experienced needed but matured volunteers who have a pleasant personality and friendly are preferred. Dress code will be white polo t-shirt or white, round neck t-shirt and black long pants or black jeans. Please refrain from using tops with any advertisement messaging Please note that we DO NOT allow slippers, shorts, miniskirts or skimpy clothing. Please bring along a jacket if you are prone to the possible low temperatures in the library. NOTE: Morning shift will start at 8.30am (reporting hours will be included).

SKCL - Shelves readers organised by Sengkang Community Library

Inviting all students who wish to perform their CIP in the library helping out in shelving of books or assist in packing of books for outreach etc. Volunteers are expected to help out 3 hours minimum per session between 9.30am to 8.00pm. Timing is negotiable. Volunteers are to come in with proper attire ( no shorts, slippers or sandals are allowed). Any enquiries please contact staff of Sengkang Community Library.

Geylang East Community Library needs volunteers and CIP students to help to shelf books. You will need to be able to read numbers and alphabets and be able to shelf/sequence them in order. Volunteers with or without experience are welcome. If you wish to undergo training please search events from HQ in the Calendar view.Dress code will be polo t-shirt or round neck t-shirt and either dark pants or jeans.
